Street photographers can still learn a lot from the old school, and I have to say my photography tends to lean in that direction. But there is some wonderful and exciting imagery being created by young people with mobile/cell phones. Often they are not restricted by the rules of good composition (as we oldies are) and because of it they are seeing things in a fresh and interesting way. I think the 'selfie' is a good example of this. Google reported that there were 24 billion 'selfies' uploaded to its servers in 2015. How many more will be uploaded by the end of 2017.
Of course, not every young person is a selfie fanatic and there are those whose talent for street photography goes beyond their years. Ami Strachan is one young lady that can teach me a thing or two about street photography for sure. Long live street photography. I will remain an old-school photographer myself. You can see her work here. www.icandidyou.com/ Like her, I'll stick with the old-school stuff.
